Unfair waste

The game is purportedly unbeatable after a certain level without paid upgrades. I got to level 12 without them. I thought it was unbeatable so checked for videos of how to beat this level, and they all use paid upgrade weapons.

This iscompletely contrary to the concept of a strategy game. You beat it by using strategy. In this game you can only beat it by spending money. I dont mind spending a few dollars on a game at the outset if I understand that from that point forward Ill be playing a fair game. This is not the case here, and I feel that I wasted time and was cheated.
